About SLDT
South Lakes Development Trust (SLDT) is a not-for-profit company with charitable status created to promote rural regeneration for the benefit of the public, specifically in the areas of Windermere, Bowness and Ambleside in Cumbria.
Our company number is 5177284 and our registered charity number is 1108280.
We are involved in numerous projects to deliver this objective ranging from public realm enhancement to our state-of-the-art business resource centre, Lakes Futures.
SLDT’s remit is to work towards rural regeneration in areas of social and economic deprivation, in particular Windermere, Bowness, Grasmere and Ambleside and their outlying areas.
We work closely with local communities and work on a variety of projects. These include offering opportunities for training, support and advice for existing and start-up businesses, improvement of public and recreational amenities and the awarding of community grants.
